Half-Life 2 Episode 2: The Clod or the Pebble

“The Clod or the Pebble” is a single-player level developed in the Half-Life 2: Episode 2 engine. In this level, Gordon must rescue a band of refugees from an underground Combine facility (a repurposed lab). Gameplay features stealth actions, which includes a new threat level UI component and one-hit sneaky kills. It also features a fiery escape ending.
Design goals for this project include:
– Script stealth gameplay into an otherwise non-stealth game
– Design and create scripted pathways that alter based on the player’s path, ensuring the player escapes via a new path
– Implement scripted events to communicate the level’s changes and states to the player
